Richard Herbert is an institutional portfolio manager responsible for the Templeton Global Macro strategies at Franklin Templeton Investments. As an integrated member of the investment team, Mr. Herbert represents the Global Macro strategies by communicating the team’s investment philosophy, process, positioning and macro outlook to domestic and international clients, as well as to external gatekeepers and decision makers.
Templeton Global Macro offers global, unconstrained investment strategies through a variety of investment vehicles ranging from retail mutual funds to unregistered, privately offered hedge funds. Previously, Mr. Herbert was a senior product manager with the Templeton Global Macro Product Management team at Franklin Templeton. Mr. Herbert joined Franklin Templeton in 2011 and earned a bachelor’s degree in business finance, economics and statistics from California Polytechnic State University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

 

Congress and Wall Street are Purple?

The day after the election, the Dow rose over 500 points, a 2% rally in most U.S. Equity Indexes. Both sides of the political aisle were anxious before the Mid-Terms. Each side was handed a victory and dealt a defeat at the same time indicating apparently that fate is bi-partisan.
